Dr. Heather Ellison, Chiropractor
Dr. Heather Ellison opened her new office, Chiropractic Physicians of the Carolinas, in her hometown of Shelby, North Carolina. She is honored to have been voted Best Chiropractor in Cleveland County for 6 years in a row since then! Dr. Ellison is an alumni of Shelby High School and went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University in Biological Sciences and her Doctorate of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic, Florida. Dr. Ellison is National Board Certified and licensed to practice chiropractic care in the state of North Carolina and South Carolina. She is certified in both the Graston Technique and Dry Needle Technique and is also a member of the North Carolina Chiropractic Association. Dr. Ellison is active in chiropractic mission work and volunteers her time to various programs in the community. Additionally, she is a huge animal lover and spends a lot of free time with her two dogs, Jabo and Peanut! She loves college football and is a huge fan of her college alma mater the NCSU Wolfpack! When she isn't in the office, Dr. Ellison is a bit of an adventurer and enjoys spending time hiking, skydiving, snowmobiling, and enjoying time at the river or lake.
Maria Temple, Licensed Massage Therapist
Maria Temple, LMBT, NYLMT began her studies of massage from 2004-2006 in Albany, NY. She graduated from Columbia-Greene Community College with an Associates in Applied Science in Massage Therapy. Her specialties include trigger point, deep tissue, reflexology, sports and medical massage. But she also enjoys performing very relaxing massages including hot stones. Maria has a love and passion for athletics and sports. Her work is resolute, professional and reliable. She has over a decade of experience and brings a caring, sophisticated approach to her work, and is very customer oriented. Maria looks to collaborate with clients, creating a customized plan to best reach their goals together. In her spare time, Maria enjoys working out 6 days a week and spending time with her Chocolate Lab, Captain, and her new husband, John.
Wendy Deaton, Office Manager/Chiropractic Assistant
Wendy Deaton joined our team in 2018 as Office Manager and Chiropractic Assistant to Dr. Heather Ellison. With an extensive background in Customer Service and Office Management, as well as a love for Chiropractic and Wellness, Wendy brings experience and passion to our facility. She is a native of Gaffney, SC (Go Indians!) now residing in Boiling Springs, NC with her husband, Donnie and their 4 daughters: Asia, Maddyn, Norah and Elliette, and cat, Moonshine. On any given weekend you can find the Deaton's kayaking on the river, fishing at the lake, or just playing music around a campfire.
Christy Green, Certified Chiropractic Assistant, X-Ray Technician, Nutrition Consultant
Christy is a Certified Chiropractic Assistant, X-Ray Technician, and Nutrition Consultant and has been working in the chiropractic field since 2012. She has been involved in every aspect of patient care and office management duties. She has been a part of the healthcare field for many years, before working with chiropractic patients. She was a Medical Lab Technician at the American Red Cross National Testing Lab in Charlotte. She enjoys connecting with patients and is passionate about encouraging healing through chiropractic care and nutrition. Christy is thrilled to be a part of a team that focuses on the patients’ well-being and healing the mind, body, and soul.
Christy is a mom to two amazing adult children, a daughter & a son, as well as a miniature Schnauzer furbaby named Murphy. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, singing and spending time outdoors in the warm weather.
